Outside Academia

I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran, and moved to the US for my PhD.

I like hiking, running (also marathons), playing any racket or paddle games, and video games (of course!). I play electric guitar at a beginner level (trying to improve). I love aviation, and my all-time favorite plane has got to be the Blackbird.

I watch Formula 1 and root for Audi and RedBull. I'm also interested in logic, philosophy, and psychology, and you can find some of the books that I'm reading in the resources tab!

My musical taste is diverse, but my favorite bands at the moment are Rammstein,  Slipknot, and Hollywood Undead. 

By far, my biggest interest is wrist watches. My favorite brands overall are A. Lange & Sohne, Cartier, and IWC Schaffhausen (Interestingly, all from the Richemont group), and my grail watch is the Zeitwerk Honeygold Lumen (Ref. 142.055).
